The heliotrope ( or Bloodstone) is a variety of chalcedony with a black color and red spots with iron silicates or red jasper.
This stone exists in two versions, a pure heliotrope and a jasper version, but they are fundamentally different, with jasper only being a similar shape.
The red spots are evident both in rough rocks and in polished rocks, as the beads that are used in costume jewelery, they look like drops of blood, hence its nickname in English: bloodstone.
