Collection: HEAD PINS
Metal headpins for jewellery
Welcome to our category dedicated to an essential element for the creation of handmade jewelry, the pin canes.
Pin canes are widely used in all kinds of creations such as earrings, pendants, necklaces and other accessories that can be related to leather or clothing. The main function of a pin cane is to attach an item, usually a stone or bead, to another part of a creation such as an earring hook, chain, or loop.
How do you use a pin cane?
Its use is very simple, the bead, a stone or another element with a hole is inserted through the part of the cane that does not have a head or it will remain lined up without being able to come out as soon as we bend or hook the same part of the cane to another element, since in the lower part it has a flat head that prevents the same element from being able to escape.
There are canes of different materials such as sterling silver, stainless steel, copper and brass and in this category we show you all our models that have brass as their base material, that is, the cheapest metal on the market and probably the most used. It is very important, but remember that the fact that they are cheap does not mean that they are of less quality, since in many cases they can be used safely, since their function is simply to hold a piece and, therefore, we can choose the color of the metal that we need to combine with the rest of the parts of a creation. One characteristic that is very relevant is that it has to be metals free of nickel and lead, like the ones we have in our store, so that they can be in contact with the skin and limit possible problems of allergies to metals.
